Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

The oil patch will never be the same.

Oil field services will not pick back up until late, maybe Q4 2017.

And when it does, we will not have the quality leadership that we once had. Even the leadership in the past 10 years will be obsolete.

Our new leadership will consist of very smart individuals, however, they will not have a clue how to lead an oil field service company into the future.

Most companies will use the cheap global work force from countries like India and will also use college grads that have no common sense but will work for peanuts.

Yes, our industry is being destroyed.

Look for a new career!!!!!

Hillary said we need to help pay down the outstanding college debt. the kids done put themselves in debt at day one. so, they tell the older folks they are old school, push them out, take their jobs then hold out their hand and ask for help paying down their debt. ?? spoiled huh?

Not all people are cut out for college. There are millions that can't afford it. Those that don't want a loan. Or be strapped with a high dollar debt before they begin work.

The country needs and always have, workers. We can't do anything without these workers.

We have always had knowledgable field supervisors and GM's that came from all areas of the field.

We hav always had managers back in the office the understood and knew how the field operated and the relied and worked closely with the field supervisors and GM's.

About 20 years ago, the management began to change.

Today, these young college kids, with a title "manager", fresh out of college strapped with a college debt to pay back their tuition, although educated, but very stupid and ignorant, arrogant.

Halliburton, right now has more of these types of managers and office people than they do workers.

We keep laying off the expierenced workers and managers.

We will fail and fall hard, layoffs are not done yet, this is not over by a long shot.

We have way too much money going out and nothing coming in.

This is not sustainable.

Before you young punk college brat responds back to this thread, you should let this sink in.

Because if you think that you won't be laid off, you better guess again youngster.

If you do not become a manager, you will at some point be eliminated, let go, laid off, fired, severed or whatever and replaced with a college kid, hindu, indian or chinese immigrant, cuban immigrant as relations warm up who will work for less than you or many of your coworkers. You must work yourself into a position as a manager or a position with another bullshit type of title such as supervisor, global something, fellow, mr.goodbar or whatever. Basically, get the manager title so you are good to go. If not you will be gone, 's only a mata'-o-time.

So quite crying and step up. If you don't then they have no choice but to hire a college kid.

Not everyone wants to be a manager. BUT, we do want managers that know how to manage and have some experience to draw on. College and knowing how to use a computer don't really count.

Uh, it's already happening. Managed by accountants and college kids who know Powerpoint and Excel and not much else.

AGREED! But the managers wouldn't know how to run ANY company, let alone oilfield service one. They are too young and don't have enough experience.
