The Chicago trials are not new. They started almost a year ago and postings showed that Lowe's absorbed who they could for less pay if it was a step down, the rest receiving a severance package. They left the LP, Installed Sales, Freight Flow, Administrative and one Service Manager for each zone.

By reading the above caption from Chicago I can see why I was let go. I made descent money and was full time so instead of letting someone go who made less, I was the one who was cut. Makes perfect sense now. By the way this was done at store #2866 in Dayton Tn.
The " trials " is a new management re-organization structure implemented for store's of a smaller volume status. It will probably end up only affecting store's with $30 million a year sales and lower in volume. The new structure loses several department manager's and acquire's a couple of more assistant manager's to insure that the daily business model is covered. The remaining department manager's will in turn take on more department's and the daily responsibilities. The latest technological change's coming to the daily operation's of the business will help make the transition a lot easier. As for the " layoff's " , only the strong will survive, so, y'all better get busy and keep your head up. Non-selling areas should not be affected directly other than having a new assistant in the area. NOW, if Lowe's can just figure out how to hire the right manager's and get them in the correct positions , the company will be a great place to work. If it continue's to go the way it basically has in the past, there will be no ice cream for desert tonight !!! Free advice will be to invest heavily in Lowe's stock and set back and watch it grow for the next 2 year's before cashing in ahead of all the corporate raider's do. That will be all !!!
What are trials?
