Chip technology is not driving the business any longer. Intel can buy cheaper technology for DC from outside suppliers. Probably best to do same as IBM and Motorola and sell their chip divisions. These are the ultimate money pits.

Better learn the words to new theme song for all you losers:

Once upon a time you dressed so fine

Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?

People call say 'beware doll, you're bound to fall'

You thought they were all kidding you

You used to laugh about

Everybody that was hanging out

Now you don't talk so loud

Now you don't seem so proud

Physics works the same in Hsinchu and in Hillyboro. How could Intel squander away a lead like they had?

I remember well how Intel technologists were so proud a few years ago with beating people by years with strained silicon, highK, and finfet and proudly talked about being years ahead.

Yet with the amazing lead the management and technologist failed to capitalize on this. You'd think the head of TMG, LTD and CEO would get fired for this miss execution, but instead they instead contrived the ACT and the sorry a$$ board is to stupid to see the issue and let the lies continue. Now Intel has lost the lead to TSMC and Samsung who will match Intel on the back of the smartphone and will leverage it to pull ahead as Intel delays continue due to plummeting x86 and failed execution on 24, 10 and 7nm with flawed definition. Now the situation is dire as they can no longer invest as they once did. Once the virtuous cycle is lost it is gone for good. Moore layoffs are all but certain as leadership in Moore is still the foundation for Intel and they are now lost with slipping schedules.

Get your life jacket ready as the $hit has only started hitting and no 3D can save it!

TSMC way out in front. Intel has lost. That's why chips no longer on BK's business revenues generating list.
