I was old enough that I volunteered for a severance lay off a year ago. I was tired of the BS and processes that kept people from working efficiently. Upoer management has made short sighted decisions and has done nothing about the real issue. They need to eliminate the layers of management red tape and trust employees to do their job. I would not be surprised if the company is bought and they get their golden parachutes to line their pockets

I volunteered back in July and was granted my request during the October 5 layoff. I've never been happier. Don't miss anything about COP. So many of your comments are "right on" especially about their SPIRIT values. They have never cared about their employees just upper management. God bless each and everyone that has been affected by all these layoffs. There is a good life out there after COP.
Yep, I left last go around as well. No regrets--other than I do miss that paycheck a bit ;)
Exactly! I have at least 6 supervisors. Total BS
There is nothing that destroys the morale of a "git 'er done" employee like layers of incompetent management interfering with the process. The real satisfaction in working is getting something accomplished. When that is gone, well it's just not worth it anymore. Sounds like you may have reached that point.
Amen to that. I volunteered to be let go last October and retired early. I have severed all
ties with COP. Took a lump sum and got on my wife's health insurance. I was with COP for many many years. Hard to leave but looking back it was the best move ever. Upper management needs purging.
