Thread regarding Scottrade layoffs

Can't believe they sold us

Scottrade veteran here. I still cannot believe this deal got trough. I was convinced that Riney and DeSilva would somehow push Scottrade into the right direction and the company would not be sold after all. Feeling so helpless, this will hit a lot of Saint Louis’ families, turn our lives upside-down. Does anyone know when should we expect the first changes?

I'm thinking about taking a job offer at Scottrade as an Investment Consultant, would this be a horrible move right now?? I've only been in the Investment banking world for 2 years, but I'm fully licensed. Please advise

On Monday, October 24, it was announced that an agreement has been reached for Scottrade to be acquired by TD Ameritrade. This includes Scottrade brokerage, Scottrade Investment Management and Scottrade® Advisor Services. Separately, Scottrade Bank has reached a similar agreement with TD Bank Group. Click here for more information about the announcement.

We think you’ll like the benefits our combined companies will bring. TD Ameritrade thinks about client care in much the same way we do. Together, our priority will be to ensure the best possible experience for our clients.

We’ll continue to support you here at your local branch office. Until the transactions close, which could take 9-12 months, it will be business as usual at Scottrade with no changes for you. You will continue to rely on us for your investing and trading needs, trading on our platforms and using your Scottrade Bank accounts just as you always have. As the transition nears, you’ll receive regular updates as new information is available.

As always, we’re here to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your business.

Sincerely,

Your Local Scottrade Team

OP - what planet do you live on - we all knew long time it's just a matter of time when the sale would take place - many, many, many predicted it'll be TD Ameritrade.

OP, you must admit you were too optimistic in terms of expecting of those two to get us trough. You were just chasing unicorns. But, here we are, good luck to us all.

I don't think the merger is going to happen till next year, but we should feel changes soon enough.
