Joo Koon plant shutdown Honeywell 2017
True, but they could make this a seniority layoff and save us that have worked here for years.
They could improve the morale at the Phoenix sites. It is at an all time low. They are letting go of the contractors in R&O at the end of the month. Not many left then they will go after the permanent employees.
I have been in unions for many years and they force the company to play fairly. Finally have a decent HR guy at Sky Harbor who is making a difference. Hopefully he stays longer than 18 months. Finally an HR guy who is getting out of his office and learning the people and what they do.
Still need a union to deal with all the benefit takeaways. This would force the company to negotiate salaries and benefits to slide the scale back towards the employees.
Unions never saved jobs they just made working conditions better.
Get over it! Leave it or s--- it up Buttercup!
WE NEED A UNION!!!’
Just survived a RIF, they ended up taking all the people who elected to leave on their own. I guess we are too old to take as an aerospace site?
There is another one coming at the end of the month, all contract workers in Sky Harbor are being let go.
Can’t get rid of bad employees, but let’s let go good ones. Hey how is that supervisor flip phone fiasco going? Not enough of a cost savings.
Unions prevent this type of stuff especially with the benefits cost, 401k matching and the low merit increases! It is less that a cost of living adjustment.
Unionize now! I’ll be coming around to drum up the support. We can meet at our normal off site bar and talk with the reps.
I know many of us have talked about it this past year. Let’s do this! And take back our benefits and secure our jobs now!
Get over it. I survived 16 annual layoffs at Honeywell Aerospace in Arizona. Yah, it was painful. But all companies must make a profit. I never wanted to be in a union. I would lose my individualism.

Dear Board of Directors and workers of Honeywell,
Probably you do not know that the site of Honeywell Elster Instromet in Silvolde is closing. By closing this site about 15 colleagues of you lose their jobs at Honeywell. Because of them losing their jobs Honeywell is offering them a little money. So little that we as unions and workers couldn’t agree with the offer of Honeywell. Therefore we have been on strike for almost 8 weeks now and still no result.
To show you of how we think Honeywell treats their workers in Silvolde, we made a video which van be viewed on YouTube or by simply clicking the following link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_91glgp_vo
If you have seen the video, give some mental support to the strikers, by liking the video.
Thanks for watchting,
The strikers of Honeywell Elster Instromet, Silvolde, and FNV Metaal, CNV Vakmensen and De Unie.
When I watch this movie, I think about my Honeywell work experiences

Look for layoffs coming for anything to do with new BendixKing sales, but R&O at Honeywell sites might carry on for awhile. See these threads:

https://www.euroga.org/forums/maintenance-avionics/7729-honeywell-king-require-dealers-to-stop-doing-field-repairs-on-some-items-on-1st-july-2017
Well this evening repair stations throughout the Honeywell Avionics Dealer network were in essence told to cease and desist further field repairs of almost all current and legacy equipment. This is the death nail of the "King" avionics line. As an avionics technician of 40 plus years, I have contacts with hundreds of pilots who understand that any money spent on a Honeywell product is money wasted. Customers who have purchase this equipment for decades were promised a network of dealers for support and service, they paid their money and they took their chances, the NARCO story 2.0
Will there still be employees to layoff once we all leave?
2017 has in store for us
-4 weeks of furlough
-2 or 3 RIFs
-further reductions in compensation to include 401k match and vacation/PTO policies.
2017 layoffs? Why not 2018? I guess we can safely predict that as well. Anyhow, I just wish everyone good luck...
Site I work at is actually looking up a lot of investment in new machines &new products coming on line, hate to hear its slow at so many other sites
Anyone has dates information? When will the U.S., Canada, Mexico and P.R. Have their RIFs?
you make a lot of assumptions in your post however this isn't the place to get in a b*&%h session so I won't waste others time.
Ha.... I might take you seriously if you worked at several companies over the past 35 years, but your whole life has been spent at one company with your buddies making sure you were taken care of. Don't toot your own horn about that. Most people (not all) think they are better than they actually are (A legend in their own mind).
A few people really ruined the WFH for a lot of productive folks.
Not sure why the poster thinks band 4 just send emails and ask for status updates. My experience is that band 4 is achieved due to years of service ( not always) and knowledge. Band 4 are across the entire org.
I know for a while as postings come open, they reduced it to a band 3 slot trying to reduce overall numbers of 4's.
I'm a band 4, work remote with 35 years service and hope they show me the door but in some ways I had rather walk in and announce retirement affective Friday, no notice . Good luck everyone
I'm glad the Band 4's are finally getting their "come up'ins". We could use less people who send e-mails all day with two phrases "When is going to ship?" or "What is the tracking number?"
Band 4s and above hit hard. Guaranteed.
The first layoffs hit - Q1. Guaranteed.
