Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

more westlake village associates

This layoff is a big crock to get around payment under W

ARN Act/60 days. Do not accept packages as they're shorting you while telling you that they're giving you 2 weeks severance for every year of service

In January it became legal to space out layoffs to avoid triggering WARN notices , and unfortunately this company has chosen to take advantage. Many companies give WARN notices whether required or not. But in 2016 Bank of America filed NO WARN notices in any of TX, NC, CA, FL, or DE even though hundreds or thousands of employees have been laid off in each state. To search for WARN notices just type '[your state name] WARN notice'. Every state publishes a list online. The list and law will no longer help you prior to your layoff, but it might help you identify companies to avoid in your job search. Eh, come to think of it, that sounds like another reason BofA might want to avoid filing the reports. It does not want to lose its ability to attract future employees.

NY has one in March amended from prior year.

If you have a written package that says "2 weeks for each year " they cannot short you, not everyone gets that offer.
