Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Here we go again

Now, a situation where everyone (including leadership) is getting a pay cut in order to keep the business afloat. The message is that we're all in this together and we feel it's better to cut everyone's pay than to start laying people off. (If leadership doesn't also take the pay cut, the message "we don't value you."). So RG quit talking out of both sides of your mouth. "We value your opinion." What a bunch of bull. Has anyone on the overly staffed "executive" team been asked to sacrifice? I think not.

Once upon a time, I believed in Follett, this will be the 3rd time being slapped in the face by Follett. So 1)not busting my butt anymore

2) will do minimum to keep store going 3)retiring much sooner than planned.

Follett has become the worst company around. The way they treat their employees is despicable. The Follett family should be ashamed.

I'm thinking management believes anyone left, after the past 4 years' bloodbath, is so desperate or poorly qualified to go anywhere else (read into this one- has been with the company fewer than 10 years and is within 5 years of retiring). This isn't loyalty or respect. This is having someone over a barrel. It's leverage.

Where is the transparency? Once again...This is just being handled way wrong. We learn from our past mistakes. Something that this "executive" team clearly do not do. One bad decision after another. And who suffers and pay for these bad decisions...the hard working team members of this company. Clearly not the "executives."!!

I am thinking the numbers weren't good from fall rush. If they were better they would have had a town hall or released them in another way as a motivator. Instead dead silence.

All I know is after years of continuously saying we are a profitable and healthy company, these recent actions don't speak to the health of the company. Complying with a federal law is one thing, but to overreach and reduce pay of those earning over the minimum is flat out disrespect.

Actions are louder than words and shows a persons true colors. Actions have shown time and time again that they only value those they select to value.
