Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The Final Daze of LHH

Have been using LHH Outplacement services since June 1st. Their contract for ISPers runs out the end of November. Haven't even gotten an interview by using all the "help" they've given, mainly just resume editing to "fool" company search algorithms. Now they have called me to see if I want to extend my personal contract. I was shocked and told them their help has not gotten me closer to any job interviews so I'd rather not waste my money. Of course. They appeared "shocked" that I was not happy. They really went hard on the sales pitch since they were losing customers. Good bye and good riddance to this phony advice only company.

I just filled out the LHH evaluation. Amazing that their was only a very short section to evaluate their services. 80% of the survey was our rating of Intel in various areas. I slammed them and gave them lowest ratings possible. The survey looks like it could have been designed by BK.

agree 100% with all the comments i got numerous calls from LHH reps after i met their reps twice-- that was all the engagement i engaged in with them ... utterly useless and considering hr rep during my exit meeting vouched for them repeatedly and even offered to schedule first career counseling session -- put me off completely since i placed 0% trust in our ex company's words after being ISP'd in ~10minutes--- LHH as useless as could be-- web has numerous forums, sites and even free one time counseling all choices i trust more than some interactions which will help drive BK's imbo indicators.

I realize LHH is a complete waste of my time 10 mins after my first appointment with them.

The employees at LHH are all HR retreads. They are all older folks , easily 55+, and are their only for the paycheck. None of their advice amounted to any encouragement in getting a job. One of their mainstays is that we need to talk to the hiring mgr but offer no method to determine who the person is. They set up LHH sponsored job fairs but do not invite any hiring mgrs, just HR, do they contradict the advice that they shell out. Goodbye, useless turds! Shame on Intel for choosing a company as useless as themselves.

I too found LHH completely useless and didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I ended up landing a job but completely on my own merit.

Here lies the problem with people looking for jobs... if there's anything I learned in life, it is to take responsibility of your own career, do not rely on anyone. You reap what you sow. If you want a job, then you yourself are responsible to learn all about job hunting, resumes, and interview process. Resources like LHH is exactly just that -- resources. Don't rely on them "hand you" job interviews.

LHH s---s balls, but really, venture out on your own and grab the bull by its horns . Good luck my fellow ACT victim.

Lol. Funny that you bring up this topic. I've had more calls this week from LHH than in the past six months. They are just attempting last ditch effort to keep a paying client base. I told them they've completely failed me and I have no use for their service.

You, Folks....Do you trust INTEL based placement companies? To someone moronic (aka desperate housewife) who point to you The Future, as The Past???

You are COMPLETE morons, if you do trust! So, please, go with LHH and continue to be complete and true idiots! :-))

Time Will Tell

The service Intel used in 2015 was RiseSmart. They too were crappy and only provided you with a half baked resume. No interviews ever came about. Intel has fools in HR contracting services that don't work.

I'm absolutely surprised that someone of you even waste any time on LHH. I cannot imagine that someone has less knowledge on how to get a job fit their skillset and think some stupid guy who has 0 knowledge on you can help you.

I also had asked LHH for a report on former Intel employees, demographics, location, etc, that had received job offers through the advice of their company. They told me that they do not track the results! Really?!?! Then how can they judge their own success?!?! Amazing waste of time.

This isn't news to anyone: said that I need to build it out for each job

That's always been the advice. And smart advice too. You can't have a 1 size fits all resume. Well, you can, but your chances of landing a job lessens.

I am with you. Absolutely no help whatsoever for finding a job. They did my resume and said that I need to build it out for each job and to brand myself. OK whatever. I asked for a report on the number of Intel folks who have found jobs and all they would say is that there have been "some". Of course I am in Oregon and it makes it a lot harder
