My estimates is about 2100 layoff as impact to hw project cancelations and another ?? On the Solaris side. Any wagers?

I am in volume servers sparc and I have not heard this. What sites are you referring to?
This sounds like it was a RIF in the making not a result of Solaris cancelation or sparc. Sparc and solaris would be more than on-premise related.

Rumor is layoffs will be in Q3 which just started. It will be in waves so that no disclosure has to happen. It could happen anywhere. Anything to do with on-premise solutions could get the axe. It's more than just HW.
No one knows. Some of us on these posts think it won't be announced just executed. And when you find out your gone or another employee is gone then you know something happened? Seems to be how this company works.
When will it be happening? Any timeline?
That sounds about right, at least for the first go-round.
Can anyone shed light on amounts by location? Burlington, redwood? So people are not surprised.
