Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Culture

The biggest threats to innovation is an organizations culture and internal politics. This company will fail as long as the US vs. THEM culture exists! Sadly to say....with current leadership...this culture will never change. RIP Follett...for the grim reaper is awaiting.

I too have made recommendations. I was not only shot down and treated like a "freshmen in high school", but upper management had the nerve to say I needed to watch my tone. For telling the truth!

Nothing will change or improve until the arrogance stops. I have personally made numerous recommendations on how to improve sales and profits for Follett only to be treated like a freshman in highschool that is seen but not heard.

It's been like this since MLS came in and pretty much made the most important Follett Value "shareholder value".

I have never seen a more conceited executive dept than I have at Follett.

They only talk to you when they have to and I could bet they have no clue what anyone outside the tower does for the company and forget them knowing your name.

Nothing changes in that tower tho everyone else suffers, and not one of them gives a s-it.

Retail Slog: Just like Follett. Even a tax credit like Follett's 10 million a few years ago.

The company said lower occupancy costs and fewer selling, general and administrative expenses like PAYROLL helped offset declining revenue.

Office Depot's profit buoyed by cost cuts

Office Depot Inc. said revenue fell 7% in the latest quarter as demand remained soft, but profit grew as it slashed costs by closing stores and as it booked a hefty tax benefit in the quarter.
