The VP of Midstream (RC) was talking about cutting staff at one of the ECN Meet-the-Manager events and talking down about the majority of people with less than 10 years of experience. He said "you guys are pretty much worthless to us now. We're spending money on you to train you to do anything. Right now you guys don't know how to do anything without us telling you. We could cut all of you and not lose any production." Guess we know which generation will be getting the axe if he's in charge of the cuts.

It establishes the track record of gross incompetence over a significant time frame at the company, together with the bigoted and hateful work place victimization that people have experienced first hand. Your ignorance of the bullying environment and glee at your so called 'fantastic place to world ??!? maybe suggests you are part of the problem. People deserve to be warned about Oxy, the systemic bigotry and persecution of people who are different as well as the track record of fatalities, safety issues and corruption (Libya, South America, Elk Hills). Entire RMT/FMT engineering groups quit Oxy because it was so bad and now all that is left is entitled millennials and the hateful bigots that protect them. Stop defending a disgraceful company from the facts.
Talking about things that happened 29 years ago is irrelevant on this board. Very few of the Oxy employees worked for the company in 1988. Old bitter ex-employee please live in the present. Oxy is a fantastic place to world with a great leadership team and one that values employees.
Whats wrong? Don't like it when your victim stands up to you? How typically Oxy. Bullying and persecuting someone then not happy when they point out what you are. At least Oxy staff are consistent at something. Workplace harassment and persecution, then retaliating against your victim when they don't tolerate it is a favorite Oxy past time. No wonder Oxy has the reputation they do among people other than the entitled millennial snowflakes.

I experienced typical Oxy integrity when I worked there - you care as much for integrity as you did for those 167 lives in the North Sea. Good point, You are so right, 1988 is 28 years ago. This is not the same company. We have leadership with integrity and respect for the environment and employees.

Whoever feels the need to start such horrible untruths should go work somewhere else. Oxy is a great company and has been more compassionate and respectful to employees through this downturn then any our peer companies. I am proud of the company and our senior leadership. And the Midstream VP is a very kind and diplomatic person.
Since they are the most arrogant and entitled generation at this company, it sounds about right. You expecting something different from Oxy? They've done every other disgraceful thing in the book, why not generational divisions?
