Thread regarding Scottrade layoffs

please advise

Thinking about beginning a possible career as an Investment Consultant at Scottrade in a major city downtown area. Is this a bad career move the moment?

Stay clear. They'll be laying off left and right in St. Louis. I was a contractor there for a few months. They were going to convert me. I took the first good offer elsewhere. Never saw so much time wasting in my life. I didn't get much knowledge transfer of IT systems, but I heard hours of Pokemon Go experiences!

Depends on your other option.

Is the best company to work for? Probably now, for many reason - see this thread @KIAexh5

But, at the same time, if you are just starting, and you want to develop some skills in the field, it's a good option, you will learn, and you will grow. After some time, you will be upset with many things at Sctottrade but your new knowledge will stay and you will have many other doors open for you based on it.
