This site treats layoff like being some kinda end of the world or something. Layoff is not that bad. If you get laid off, it then means either your job was not needed or your managements are idiots. In either way, you're better off to get outta there and get more appreciated in your next job. I got laid off couple of times and each time my new job was better and also offered me double digits raise. Just get your resume out so you don't get caught with pants down.
Our location announced they would scale back the development effort on the current projects, and shift whoever they can to other projects. They vaguely suggested there would be some people laid off, but no announcements that I know of. Many contractors are being let go at the end of the month.
