Quest got acquired a year before Dell went private, and had a good first year within Dell. After privatisation everything changed. Costs got cut to pay back debt, especially R&D (aka the future) and DSG was forced to integrate "sales motions" with Dell hardware reps. Disasters. A stronger leader than Swainson might have fought it, but he collected his bonuses, mumbled and checked out of any meaningful leadership role. If you're looking to understand how the DSG assets got sold for 50 cents on the dollar,,start with swainson.

The problem: Many of Quest’s offerings were for traditional desktop and server management — rather than multi-tenant cloud management. Companies like AppDynamics, Datadog and New Relic have since popped up to fill that void which means if they do not innovate they are not going to have the sales team or the need to have a lot of folks who has been doing traditional selling. Good Luck those folks.
Foglight and AppAssure had layoff's , does layoff include, IAM, Win Server Management and KACE?
there's an agreement with Dell to allow Quest to be present on site for some months yet. Some sites have 6 months, others have 12 months. Further layoffs in January, certainly in NA, don't know about Europe.
