Thread regarding LifePoint Hospitals layoffs

Hospital Layoffs 2017

Do you have more info as it relates to widespread hospital layoffs that may be planned for 2017. Ideally, the info will be on Lifepoint, but I am interested in any hospital closures or large staff layoffs that may be happening next year. 2016 was an OK year for the sector but many are predicting a ton of issues in 2017 and I'd like to find out if more is planned for next year.

Also, in your opinion what geographic regions are more prone to hospital layoffs in 2017? Is there any part of the country that's more likely to experience a downturn if compared with other hospitals and regions.

Memorial Medical Center Duke LIfepoint in Johnstown Pa.. Eliminating positions at all levels including entire departments. Estimated 1,000 people since they took over the non-profit Conemaugh Health System 2 years ago. Most recently at least 100 people terminated with many taking reductions in pay and hours. 10 million dollars needed to be cut from the budget since last year their projected revenue was $10 million short.. Shame for our poor community.

There was a layoff at the HSC in Brentwood on Friday 12/7/17. Not sure the exact number but heard it may be as high as 100.

Just confirmed with a good source that's heard 60 people/open positions to be eliminated at the HSC Hospital Support Center for Corporate LifePoint Heath.
