IoT, IoE, Smart Grid, Smart Cities......all of it an attempt to find new markets and all too late to the game. The ability to turn a Philips light bulb pink from blue from your iPhone is not going to right this ship.

Just a way to get y to get cosy with gov leaders and waste shareholder money and rise personal prFile. Leads to ZERO sales hence why we don't have hundreds of them as sales folks have cottoned to this fact.
Biggest waste of marketing money. Simply a waste of time for a few idiots who got nothing better to do.

IoT/IoE is like a mirage in a desert for Cisco.This business has a laser thin margins & high margin projections will never pan out that well.In the few years this business will be on a death row just like cloud.

Too many IoT features are pure first-world gold plating. I live in a rural area where internet is not reliable, and electricity sometimes is lost for days due to severe weather events. Electricity is the key log. If your electricity is out, you have no internet. You have no power. It all falls down.
When you're outside in 10' F. weather, trying to start your gas powered generator so you have HEAT, believe me - you don't give a single damn about the IoT and cool apps.
"Too late, too late" will be the cry. "The market money has passed you by"
