He is coming to discuss Todd R. exit and what to expect next. Rumor has it they will either be selling off the business, or giving a time frame for closure. There has been no Todd R. replacememt e-mail - which can only mean the business is done. Be prepared for the constant influx of self nomination e-mails. Best case scenario the business has close to 2 years or the business is done. Good luck Northford facility, you don't have long.

Northford CT - in Paja words - is the Crown Jewel. Continues to out perform although RIF's are in affect, of course no OT is in affect, and factory workers are mainly temporary hires (for years) thru on-site Randstad. Todd R was also at meeting claiming the shift to E&ES was sudden. And the rest of what he said was practically nonsensical. After a bunch of long winded answers the old "keep doing what you're doing" was said.

Is there anyone at that plant that has a "special" assignment? Has there been anyone new come in that you have seen and not seen doing a job that no one really knows about? That person(s) know what is going on. I've seen it all before.

Also note, Director of Engineering was also reassigned mid-week to a lead position in Melville. It was safe to say 3-4 months ago project Cherry was put on hold due to previous problems with Orange. These are code for Manufacturing facility relocations to Juarez Mexico. It may be possible the factory in Northford outlasts most of its engineering resources. I'm thinking spin-off coming.

Siemens to buy hbt....product dev to be done in europe, mfg to be done in mexico or asia. Melville facility to be used for north american cetification testing. All other sites will be closed. Many engineers will be offered transfer to avoid public public layoff announcement.

Here's another thing Northford facility- you have a nice new security facility on Long Island! Hmmmm...what would you do if you were in charge of leaning things out? One of those 2 facilities must go. Your production can head down to Mexico, and everything else that remains can thrive on the island. Connecticut is not attractive to business - didn't GE leave? So, it does make sense. Just have plan B ready.
This site is for rumors. It doesn't sound so far fetched. Anyone from that plant please post back after meeting. What is very interesting that the email about Todd taking a new position said nothing about a replacement or even about seeking out another. I do think that it's very interesting. Since taking on the Security business, everything has got strange for that division.
I know the employees are very confused and have no clue what is going to happen next. I can only hope Monday the complete truth is given. The employees can detect the corporate BS from a mile away. If they are going to close the factory...then jusy do it! The holidays are coming and this should have been held off to Jan.
