Hi, first of all if they are laying people off they cannot do it based on age. The fact that this supervisor said this opens the door for legal action if you are laid off, that is blatant discrimination. My organization is hiring for a few different roles in the Nashville area. I'd be happy to talk with you about what opportunities we currently have.
Several weeks ago a co-worker and I were told by our supervisor that there was a strong possibility that there would be layoffs early in 2017 at the corporate office. The thing that got me was that he said that one of the criteria would be age. I pointedly asked him about age being a factor and he said it again. This has me very worried since I am an older worker. Don't know really where to take this.
