I heard they give significant rent bonuses for areas like ND or Alaska to compensate for housing costs.

Thank you all - I needed the insight. You say they stopped the differential for Alaska, or they just lowered it? Coming from the Gulf Coast area the cost of living is much higher in Alaska- what gives?

G11 you should be around 85/90K and 10% PIP, G12 is around 100K and 20% PIP. The jump in total compensation is quite significant. Expect to go from 96/97K to about 117/118K at the end of the year. This in Houston and assuming you are not in the SLP-5 category where it would be even more. (SLP-5 are the special abilities employee to retain at all cost, they get double yearly raises and get promoted more often.)

You lose $$ when you transfer to Prudhoe bay Alaska. For example, if you were making $23/h in Lafayette and you get a transfer they automatically lower your pay to $16 plus they give you 15%. So roughly u ll be making $18.4 plus overtime.

You work only 11h30min no more crazy OT. You lose vacation, and personal time off because your on 14×14 plus not local.

If you want to relocate to Alaska and work from there they ll pay u 30%+$16hr= $20.08 plus ot. But living and renting in Alaska is very expensive. So either way they win not you. You get to keep you job for now under their term.

If you go as a loan to alaska you make extra 15%, good deal but they stopped that too.

nany people quite when they were offered a transfer. Management in Alaska s---s big time

Good luck

What you don't realize is they aren't asking. Don't expect anything other than a lateral move and a job. Count yourself lucky you got a transfer. Welcome to the blue machine

If you are G12 you should ideally be at 6 figures in total comp imo. If flying into Alaska negotiate either pay, time off, or something

Alaska had 20% pay going until things turned down. Most people working there from Houston or Lafayette now get standard pay as if they worked locally. The Alaska Anchorage guys working Prudhoe I think still have 10% but may be 20%.

I don't believe Midland or North Dakota get anything but I don't have as much info from land.

No multiplier in North America

Thank you. My other question is do they have any other US multipliers if they ask you to move to a less popular and populated area (like Alaska, Midland, North Dakota etc)?

10 is $60-90k

11 will be 10% higher. 12 will be 10% higher than that with bonus options depending on role and organization plus country can change multipliers.
