@4cjl, one set rule is that you should be elsewhere. Get lost.

@L2LEImf-2oui, who made and distributed the rules on this site that noted that it was to contain "useful commentary"? I've never heard or seen anything like that anywhere on this site. Most of what I read here are entertaining anecdotes, war stories, sob stories, people venting, sharing their grief about an issue or management, company policy etc. Every so often people ask questions. Some get answers, some don't, some get ridiculed. Some set themselves up for ridicule, and some troll purposely to be jerks and incite anger and/or antagonize people intentionally.

Let us know if there is some set of rules on this site. I would advise, in any event, to not take anything seriously that you read here as far as answers to questions, or advice or any kind. There are real websites/forums/blogs/articles/chat rooms etc. on the internet on infinite subjects where you can get reliable advice. TheLayoff.com isn't one of them.

Just my point. Thanks, 2fef, for proliferating more wasted time on the site. When Chevron threw out the waste during the layoff season, it collected here in this forum. What a waste for so many others who were laid off who could benefit from useful commentary.

@2hsy, Really? It was a surprise for you how much your pension amount was going to be? It's people like you that proliferate the threads on this site offering nothing but false information. This is why allowing anonymous posting ruins a forum like this. Shame on you for contributing nothing valuable.

I just got an "advice" notice in the mail from the HR Service Center. It stated the amount and informed me that my rollover will happen on Friday, Dec. 30.

The rollover is a big number and I'm pleased to see it. On the other hand, I worked for Chevron 35 years so I feel I've earned it.

Congratulations to everyone else who held out until December to maximize their payout!

If the interest rates continue their climb upward, then we may have more retirements, especially the folks who are 60+

I didn't get mines yet, I am assuming Dec 29 or 30 based on what days are holidays this year. On the Chevron Human Resource website, my site now reflects that it is in process with a payout completion date of 12/31/2016, but that is a Saturday. I no longer have calculation tools available. So I am expecting it either Thursday or Friday of this week. Yep I sat on mines since June watching the rates. When I noted a trend of the interest rates going up I requested mines. My financial planner explained that it would be based on Sept, Oct, and November's interest rates. Waiting a few months did benefit my bottom line. I figured though it was time to cash in, I would end up losing what I had gained.

Requests are processed as soon as possible but due to the number they process the "transfers" are released in batches. Hang on, you will not be forgotten and not to worry about getting stung by interest rate increase because the December request for transfer will only be impacted for the rate for Nov. Oct & September. Now for those who retire in 2017 you have already been dinged. .25 % stings but when you get to .50 or 1% ( and you can be assured there will be another 1-2 interest rate increases in 2017) then it really digs into your FU money. End result be an uptrend in retirements

You mean some folks get paid on the 30th and the rest in another batch ?
