Macys stock is in the tiolet at $36. The senior must do something drastic to increase their stock price. Remember macys only commitment is to their stock holders. They dont care about their employees, which is proven by thousands of employees in the stores and in coprporate losing their jobs. And if u happen to mAke it thru you then have to worry about it next year.

Some of this is HYPE, some of it is not...usually announcements are made the second week in January, so expect the announcements in the next 2 weeks. If you follow trends in retail, store closings are happening not only to Macy's, but to stores like CVS, Sears (who somehow are still alive), and Kohls... in total, 2,500 retail stores are closing in 2017... but a swift focus on Backstage could get things running quickly again.
In all, there will be jobs lost, as well as many saved because of the closures ahead. Stay positive, stay strong, and we'll find a way to get through the mess.
As a disclaimer though, polish up those resumes, this is retail anything could happen!

The company has the worst customer service and dysfunctional management ever. The merchandising division should be fired. They have nothing people want and their sales are constant and confusingly full of gimmicks and weird pricing. I've seen the same stuff at amazon far better priced and shipped free. Their website is bewildering and lame.

Ha well if they are not profitable why wouldn't they try to right size. Retail in general will be adjusting... It could be way worse you could be working for Sears...

i know somebody who has been through two job eliminations...first she was placed in a whole new area and then the following year the job was eliminated. A few years later she came back and she says she is not worried, but you never know.
Remember......the only thing that counts is RESULTS MATTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
