Commoditize refers to a process in which goods or services become relatively indistinguishable from competing offerings over time. Generally speaking, commoditized products within specific categories are so similar to one another that the only distinguishing feature is pricing.

Blocking occurs when a sector is approaching max capacity, large venue events, holidays, weather events etc . Part of the agree for these second rate "wireless" service is when a site gets to 75% it will not accept roamers.
MVNO's get dropped during "blocking"? What the heck is that? What are you even talking about?
Oh and by the way, Comcast is about to fire up their MVNO which we contractually cannot "block". Another piss poor leadership decision that is now coming back to bite Verizon in the a$$.
And to the one who says being a dumb pipe is lucrative, maybe for the executive team. But being a namesless, meaningless company means very little headcount.

@1cta, you say dumb pipes like it's a bad thing. Dum pipes are a sure thing and can be quite lucrative.
@pys, I enjoy my T-mobile service just fine. I get better speeds and throughput with T-mobile than I did with Verizon in my area, and it is cheaper too.
@pys - Do you know what an MVNO is? You think this is just about t mobile?
I use Project Fi and it switches seamlessly between wifi, T Mobile and Sprint.
Verizon is destined to become a dumb pipe.
Very true in today's wireless. I tell people the best wireless service is the one that works where you use it and least expensive.
if you dont think there is a difference in service, just ask tmobile customers how they enjoy their service
