Thread regarding CSC layoffs

So what do you think about the announcement in the meeting today, about raises for North American Employee’s?

After HR going over all the crap about Workday and Employee evaluations, someone asked a question if North American Employees are getting raises this year.

Of course the response back, its undetermined at this time. Michael Lawrie got a 8.37 million dollar raise between 2015 – 2016, don’t you think its time to share the wealth with the US employee’s

Per http://insiders.morningstar.com/trading/executive-compensation.action?t=CSC

Michael Lawrie/Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer $23,823.731

Up from 15.45 million last year

Paul N. Saleh/Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer $8,299,698

Stephen Hilton/Executive Vice President and General Manager, GIS $7,145,736

David W. Zolet/Executive Vice President and General Manager, Americas Region $4,301,058

From what I understand is that the policy going forward is that there will no longer be any raises. Ever. Not hard to surmise since no one has gotten a raise (let me clarify, any one who makes 7 figures, they still get raises) for the past several years.

Its more than obvious , that the employers are NOT working "WITH" the employees . The workers have been USED to the point that they are waking up and saying NO. If the execs insist on fostering such a culture , then expect to reap the dividends you are going to get. Its not like you have not been advised of what is coming.

My last manager was the worst I have ever had in my entire career in IT. DXC need to address these clowns who are running CSC/HPE, or same old same old will occur come April. And I mean line managers upward. Just because you've been there for 5 years does NOT entitle you to become a manager!

Union and for sure all the jobs will be sent off shore. We need for the government to fine employers who send jobs off shore.

Do you think they will do anything to close wage gaps of same skill-level employees between HPE and CSC before the merger? I know they can layoff the higher earners, as they have already done that, but I am sure there will still be discrepancies.

After 5+ years on one account with no raises, I decided to call it quits. I contacted a talent lead and found a new job working for the account I was already supporting. BTW it took me approximately 30 days to accept an offer, resign and start my new well paying market-valued job. There's light at the end, if you work for it. Good luck CSC peeps!

I immediately resigned, over 50 and got a job 2 days later. It really does get way better outside of this greed infested toxic wastedump of a company.

Current HPE employee here. We haven't had raises (permanent increases in our base salary) in several years. Stock "as a bonus" is a thing of the past as well. This year, we did receive a very very small 'bonus' (variable pay) - the first since 2014. Glad to hear things aren't gong to be changing. LOL...what else are we going to do?

I agree re: Unions. The unions were made the scapegoat once it became an employers market.

I was RIFed late last year, and I STILL think that unionizing CSC would be a DUMB idea. Please do your homework and look up how unions 'saved' the Detroit auto worker.

LMAO at the talk about Unions. We are all going to be replaced with near/offshore resources so no one cares about the North American employees.

FYI http://www.ifpte.org/join-us/

"Employer-Specific Unions, an updated term for "industrial unions," do not focus on a specific trade but rather unify groups of non-management employees who wish to engage in collective bargaining with a particular employer. In other words, in order to be a member of this type of union, an employee must be employed where the employees have already activated their right to engage in collective bargaining with their employer, or employees in that workplace need to organize to activate their right to engage in collective bargaining with their employer.

Employer-Specific Unions generally organize themselves along particular industries, occupations, and/or sectors of the economy. For example, the United Auto Workers (UAW) membership is mostly comprised of workers in the auto industry, while the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is made up of public sector employees.

The majority of our members are white collar employees, most of whom are professional and technical skilled workers in the private, federal and public sector. Though most of our members are in the engineering field, our members also include judges, attorneys, analysts, auditors, skilled technicians, scientists and many other occupations."

A union or walkout is needed. If everyone would walkout it would be crippling even for one day.

Unfortunately (?), a union is the only way this sort of treatment of the employees by the executives will be changed. As long as we take it, then it will continue, and one person standing up and saying they won't take it any more is not enough. However, be aware that even then, it will be painful for a while.

Imagine if every tech in CSC and HPE walked out on April 3 . Send a serious message to the stock holders and the execs , exactly who is the core of the company or companies . It's time . But we need to be serious as well . Execs : start respecting the resources you claim you care about now , of you will surely care when the lights get turned off .
