I read the promo pamphlet to try to sell more cards and get the store manager to chill out a bit about it and I came part about non eligible gas and restaurant purchases that only give 1% instead of the the 5% and 3%. Non eligible gas purchases include supestores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and warehouse clubs as when as fuel used for non automotive purposes. That does not leave many places to get 5% back on gas.

If SHC goes bankrupt then all the points are worthless as well as any gift cards.
I think what they mean by this is a purchase made inside the convenience store (candy, etc). I have seen this before on credit card offers for gas. It almost always only applies to "pay at pump"
Maybe they don't care at this point. What happens to these people who have used the sears card. Someone who decided to take advantage of the offer and put everything on the card so they can uae the points for a big purchase such a new washer and dryer. Will bankruptcy protection mean those points are not available? I doubt my store manager knows anything or would look into it and if he did he wouldn't share any insight with anyone. This huge push to get apps has me wondering if the end of Sears and Kmart are a lot closer to hand. Eddie may be trying to secure as much money as he can before a judge has any say in how that money is used. The way Eddie has used Seratage and his hedge fund and other companies he could still profit from the demise of Sears and Kmart.
Nope. Not good at all. Even taking the warehouse clubs & grocery stores out, pretty much every gas station that I go to has a convenience store on the lot.
