2020 will be the judgement day of hdd technology and we will see the techological singularity in the end when price of 500gb ssd is just twice expensive compared to 500gb hdd. cheap qlc 3d nand and very fast xpoint are smiling on us and waiting in the line. young engineers continue to leave and too many politicians(skillful ex-engineers) tend to rule the company, stay away from Seagate way. it is not good signal at all. hdd must reach out for high capacity more than now and unbreakable data integrity, but not sure who can do this. every 6 months we would see layoffs and young engineers leave. hope god lead us in the right direction.

From past experience with Seagate, always plan your exit date, prepare it, you never know when Seagate will just close down any site across the globe. All the best
I wonder if Seagate considers the damage its doing to itself with all of these layoffs from a personal perspective. I got laid off in 2008 and would never ever go back considering I would have to worry every day about loosing my job. Anyone who's asked me about potentially working there I tell them they are nuts to even consider it.

bangalore has shown only ineptitude at every opportunity. got the talk from vp that we need to bring them up to speed, problem is the half decent ones are in and out of the job within a year. hopefully the hardware guys are better than the script kiddies they hire
