Sabre with such a long history than companies like Apple, Google and alike still struggling with their revenues due to bad leaders [Worldwide], who get promoted due to their political skills rather than IT related skills. Sabre should start firing such leaders with more than 10 years experience as their contribution is terribly bad otherwise the company would have been profitable.

too many management that don't do anything.... I worked there 24 1/2 years and let go in 2013. Best thing that happened to me. It's a sinking ship! There is no need for Managers with 2-3 people, Directors, VP, Executive VPs, Executive Directors, Sr. VP's. There are too many management layers.

Hope the new leadership team is listening and takes corrective measures

I see nothing changes. They are still a company with the culture of laying off and still a company that have managers that are part of the airline business and not the tech business. If you suggest something than you are a black sheep.

Though I agree with mid-management being the part of the problem, the flip side are that VERY few in Sabre (a Masters degree and having been on a plane doesn't qualify as experience) understand the airline business from end-to-end and that creates MAJOR flaws in development and being able to plan on how emerging technology can support such a dynamic industry.

Dude, the company is profitable even with terrible leaders. It's just not as profitable as the stakeholder want. Which is worst in my opinion.

I couldn't agree with you more. Way too many legacy thinkers, not enough management that understand how to manage, lead, & create an environment that fosters forward thinking & ownership. It's a complex business, but it desperately needs a facelift. Way too many competitors (big & small) are available to take pieces of the business away.

Employees are but a commodity - easily brought on, easily released.

All these leaders will stay in Sabre until the final end. They will fire more and more people and consume all money incoming from GDC.
