@1jaj

I heard SPARC SI team at Bur is already small. I can't in saying they will keep you guys for long. I heard in SCA consolidations especially for small teams on work.

How big is x86 SI? Good luck to you all at Bur.

SPARC SI team in Santa Clara was hit hard but no one was cut from the SPARC SI team in Burlington.

For those who still stay in Systems hardware and Solaris or Linux groups, you should look for a new job outside. Why stay at O with no bonus, no pay raise and no hope. The Cloud will kill the Systems group for sure. It will happen very fast. Many company are migrating to AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Microsoft Azure. Leave now and get a better pay while the job market is still good.

It's been a year or so since I left oracle. How are the sig integ teams? Did they get hit hard at Bur? I am now on the west coast. It's very expensive but I am getting use to the nice people.

I posted before. The alleged plan is to consolidate all HW that's what's left of SPARC and x86. Would they offer relocation to SCA for those retained? That's my question.

@-gns

How long were you on SPARC dev team? Did they retain long term employees?

Yes. I heard it last month that the plan is to start cutting to begin consolidations to SCA. I thought x86 was already hit a few times. Are you in x86 dev? What did you hear? I got word from a close buddy in SCA. I know some people are newer in BUR that should be worried. I can retire.

I work in SPARC HW Burlington and was retained after cuts ... after all those layoffs in SPARC server development, I can't imagine x86 is much more stable. Keep in mind that we in SPARC knew it was coming because our future project was canceled.
