Shoes are going from FMI to in-house dc sorting. One DC for KMart stores and one for Sears stores and/or to other dc's (Delano as stated above?). That shouldn't affect hoffman as it is only a change to distribute them from in-house and save money from using 3rd party FMI. If there is an upper level shoe clearing - maybe that suggests removal from shoe market completely?

Some of us in I.T. made a bunch of system changes to allow foot ware to be shipped from Delano DC to stores instead of FMI third party whse... I guess by doing those changes it eliminated jobs at Hoffman... no wonder we had to work over Christmas and New Years to get it done.... now that we are almost finished then some of us systems guys are next on the chopping block, I would imagine. I originally thought it was to save $$$ by not using FMI employees any longer. We are waiting for the wrecking ball to come to our dept.

AP is getting removed from the smaller stores and for now in the bigger stores they are staying but when they quit or get fired they will not be replaced. Last poster was correct that all associates will be laid off in 2017

If you work for Sears or KMart and don't yet understand that your store WILL close in 2017 sooner or later, there's no helping you.

The only thing that was OFFICIALLY announced, as far as I know, was the shoe department management outside/above store level.

Was that a guess about AP or are we really on the chopping block?

Not sure about the footwear leads themselves but my former DM said her level on up will be eliminated as of January 11.

This has been confirmed. It was announced to us directly from our soon-to-be-former Market Shoe Leader last week.
