Thread regarding Wal-Mart Stores Inc. layoffs

Information Systems Division (ISD), Global Back Office Solutions, and Data and Analytics

Are they all going to be hit - also, what are your thoughts on how bad the hits are going to be? This is specifically for KAT's group

I went through the 2016 year beginning layoffs and must admit it was the best day ever$!! After 7.5 years of continous abuse and daily dealing with immoral people it was actually a relief to be laid off. Now working for an awesome company that is more then a shallow untruthful plede/ lawsuit avoiding motto, making 25k more a year with an organization that truly GETS continuous improvement is more then tools and buzzwords!! So yourself a favor and leave before they totally disrupt your professional life, WMT specializes in paying pennies for top talent, while forcing you to live in Waltonville backhills USA!!

Probably best for everyone to leave the largest retailer in the world.

When I worked there we had world class systems and over the past few years too much waste. Started with their SAP implementation in their Financial systems! What a mistake!

Yes the hope is that there will more of a reorganization than layoffs

But again it does no good to anyone to speculate before the month is complete

Keeping an updated resume and networking are always sound advice regardless

Just keep your resume updated, all of the areas mentioned are apart of the known risk, a lot of changes are coming. Watch the name Jeremy King fly around shortly, he'll be in charge of WM Tech reporting to Marc Lore.

Unless one has inside info, it is difficult to say. But ever since the jet.com purchase was completed, the handwriting was on the wall. Also the Bangalore expansion doesn't favor Bentonville based workers. The departures we have already heard about point to power struggles , that Marc Lore wins.

So I expect impact in Bentonville to be moderately severe - maybe in the 200-300 range

But this is all speculation and not a productive exercise to handle anxieties of many
