Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

(Corporate cuts and Truck rolls) ...Altice's Goal ... from the mouth of your new owner and Wall Street

Those who know me know that I always do research and bring out the facts, I don't make BS up. As hard workers with other issues in our minds, who can find the time to research, dig into the internet and find the necessary information to make an educated decision? Well. I did the work for our guys in my depot, without any agenda or bias. And, if needed, explain it into simpler terms. That's why you guys couldn't get it straight when it came to union voting time. Uninformed and misinformed technicians trying to make an informed decision. Good luck with that. Perhaps I should've stayed on a little longer to speak out for your cause and fight the good fight. I would've been down with that. Although, before I left, I did warn everyone to get the f--- out. Nonetheless, if you're wondering what the new owner has in mind, I'll give you his own words, from a conference he held after the purchase of Cablevision. If you wish to check it yourself, go to THE STREET.COM.

Analysts anticipate that Drahi will slash overhead by outsourcing parts of the business to contractors, decreasing management salaries and finding synergies throughout Cablevision's diverse set of holdings. "There's at least $300 million in corporate overhead that can immediately be deleted," one conference attendee said.

In his presentation, Drahi espoused a no-frills management philosophy that pointed to the possibility of layoffs, or at least a broad restructuring. "I don't need the guys who are top top top, just guys who are good enough," he said to the crowd. "We'll cut salaries so that we can run for the long term, not the short term."

Another segment of Cablevision that may be destined for the chopping block are so-called truck rolls, the home-installation and maintenance services administered by van-driving technicians. Analysts think these may be farmed out to contractors instead of run in-house. "The risk they run there is not-as-high customer satisfaction," said senior analyst Matthew Harrigan of Wunderlich Securities.

The French-Israeli Drahi also said that he may soon be shopping for a wireless network to augment Altice's suite of cable-based products. "I'm not saying tomorrow," he said, "but at some point, yes."

Now back to moi, in a nutshell, if you're a supervisor or higher and you're making good money... I mean GOOD money.... say goodbye to that. He doesn't need "top top" people, just guys who are good enough. He said it. I didn't. See ya. If you're in corporate and looking for sympathy... you ain't getting it from here. While you were in your warm office, we were freezing our nuts off running downed cable lines. Have a good day with your resumes.

Wall Street's analysis concerning truck rolls is absolutely on point. But, to all you present technicians... start learning FIBER. Do it now before you become absolutely OBSOLETE.

And as I speculated previously, Drahi will be shopping for an established wireless phone service. Hello T-Mobile, Cricket, Sprint. And if he scores on this one, customers can view their "video" service on their phones. No other apps needed.... just Altice's. A quad-package.... cell, video, internet, + phone.

I hope this helps out those who are still undecided about their futures. And the veterans who decide to leave, take the good memories with ya and leave the rest with Altice. Peace.

Yes sir friend hope all is well with you and your family. They trying to put us old guys out but I want to leave on my terms. I deserve It I have worked hard and always earned what I got. No hookups by ratting out techs just plain old work. Do not need my supervisor to tell me how I'm doing I know what I need to do.

With these fake metrics that started 4 years ago from these new clowns, funny thing is they don't have a spread sheet and you can't see your numbers and other people's number why? Because they are fake like the one who implemented it the previous corporate hr director.

She implemented it in Aig and it didn't work there also. Do your homework new guys.
