Anyone following the "Associate Discount Program" page on Pebble? Senior VPs, Leena, Eddie...are all over that thread trying to explain how this new "discount" is something they did for the associates. Interesting read...

These are the same leaders in charge of the financial success of our company, is their ineptitude a surprise? Even their execution of this change was a failure from their rambling pebbles to confusing messaging
If you dig a little deeper on Pebble, a store level associate talks about how this is another cut that hurts them (their commissions were cut first, which brought their pay down).
Leena Munjal pops in and says something along the lines of "I've been there and know how it feels" (in reference to scraping by). Last I checked, her compensation is well over several hundred thousand dollars a year, plus stock options. All for doing nothing except keeping SYWR and this "member" craze going.
It's kind of comical to see all of the VPs and execs so out of touch. They have to go to the extremes of lying (like Leena did with her "I've struggled before" pity party) to validate their existence and the existence of their work in an attempt to get us all on the bandwagon.
Company store. Just like the 19th century coal mine companies. We pay you but you have to buy all your goods from us. I would rather have the cash I would save to spend on whatever I want, like house payment, untilities, car payment, food, diapers, gas. But I guess corporate know better how to run my life than I do. Oh, well good thing there is a Wal-Mart down the street with cheaper prices so I can shop there. And everyone in our store is doing the same thing, we are boycotting buying anything from Sears/Kmart.
If they have to cut back, it would be nice to see them cut from the top once in awhile. How about instead of a million dollar salary and stock shares they cut the exec salaries to $900,000, before taking away the small benefit the employees still have. Leave their paltry 10% or 20% employee discount alone. What do you say Ms Munjul?
Eddie doesn't do anything for anyone. Eddie takes care of Eddie. The employee discounts have been eliminated because it benefits Eddie not the employees. That is how he works, that is how he thinks.
Everything they do is for the associates. They eliminated mine and alot of other hard working associates jobs just for us. They put us all in the unemployment line just for us.
