Couldn't be more accurate.....very sad for the talent that was in the mix of the reduction that are high preforming managers who by a glitch in the most random assessment being laid off.I also feel bad for our in store executives as well as associates as we scramble around with new assignments , more on our plate and juggling a million roll outs with confusing if any direction.

It's such a shams to see how UNETHICALLY the layoffs have been handled. Especially, since our core values include INTEGRITY ALWAYS. My job is safe, but I am deeply ashamed to report have witnessed SERIOUS MISCONDUCT from HR. We all knew in q3 to prepare for layoffs- and it wouldn't have been so traumatic if they actually had a plan in place and communicated it. We have been prepared to hear we would be let go--- NOT PREPARED TO BE JERKED AROUND AND SHOWN NO COMPASSION OR DIGNITY. Legally, they have to give us the 60 day warn notice- this is about the only thing they did correctly accomplish. However, they have not actually given us 60days to be told if we have a position or not since assessments just wrapped up and we have people out there STILL NOT KNOWING IF THEY WILL BE PLACED/WHEN. They are still scrambling to understand base staffing levels which is affecting all those displaced. The already overstretched multi store HRMS are just referring associates to call HR services hotline verses actually calling with/for them and working through the problem and getting/trying to get a Solution. NO COMMUNICATION! I have witnessed top levels execs being pressured to put people on unfair/bogus reminders because they were close to retirement and knew they didn't want to retire yet- effectively pushing them out and saving money because if you are on a reminder process you don't have to pay out severance. Total Age discrimination! I have seen hrms mess up multitudes of associates hire date and not help them work through it. NO ONE KNOWS HOW THE SMS WERE ASSESSED- just guesses consisting of scorecard (which can be skewed and incorrect) and coaching. The perceptions looks like it was just a room discussion of who they wanted to boot - because their have been top performers who want to grow and not on a process let go and then mediocre at best sms sent to large volume doors. They havent even assessed or will assess GOB SMS effectively denying them ANY CHANCE TO BE PLACED!! I am utterly ashamed of my company! To my fellow peers- hang in there- Sending magic your way!

Still no communication in my store. Was supposed to be at the end of last week, then monday now supposedly today, I'm off and sure I'll get the call or HR will have to come back tomorrow. Get this over with and give me my package! On another note according to HR services vacation time for 2017 will be paid, don't trust them at all. This is contradictory to what the Q&A pages say.

Same thing in my store. Sad to see so many go and sad for the ones remaining, as morale is low.

Everyone is not safe and we know that. Our store told the sm who was staying and who was going. Still wondering how they assessed everyone. We have sm let go that had high scorecards and great reviews. Some that stayed had lower scorecards and below on their review. This process was not fair and I believe that between hr and the store manager they selected who they wanted. It really didn't matter what anyone looked like on paper but of course they can cut who they want. Sad though that they really didn't pick the right person for the job. Macys for sure is going down here. I feel sorry for the people left in the stores. They get yelled at everyday. For those leaving have to wait out two weeks and continue working there.

We are seeing no more career SMs who have reached the top of their wage grade. You must be in the promotable pool or capable of taking on the job of a higher volume assignment at your level to be considered for job placement. The newly severanced/retirement eligible SMs over 60 years of age are getting a gift of an extra cash pkg in my opinion since retirement was on the horizon. Well deserved and should be thanked for all those years of service! Under 60 years of age, probably still need to work full-time. The best of the best signing off on Feb 15th. You will be missed. Good luck out there!
