This is a sham. You can opt out of open availability but you are not guaranteed hours. STL kindly explained you will only work as needed and most likely you will be scheduled for the minimum hours needed to fulfill your employment status, ft, pt, pt-20.

Yeah that chronic fatigue from random schedules and split days off is no joke. Unfortunately that's just how it is in the service/retail industry and that'll never change. Good motivation for me to better myself and get out a couple years ago.
I heard they were doing this in the florida region because they were having hiring and retention issues with that open availibility crap. If you are FT the minimum they can schedule for is 36hours as per the florida g.i.g. book..i would be happy shaving a few hours here and there to have a set schedule that allowz me to have a life..and free from chronic fatigue..now the pt20 people might really get assed out in this equation

Do yourself a favor and get out of that place, I left have a 40 hour week job, betterpay dont have to use pto to get my 40 anymore!
