Well, OP, you definitely are being "factually selective" or "thinking in the alternative facts" way by only looking at this particular review, without looking at the other 13+ game benchmark reviews that have already been leaked.
This particular review is interesting in that it pits an overclocked 7700k to a stock/unclocked 1700, on a game that is a few years old( GTA V) that is known to have very little optimization...And the comparison, if you actually read the original benchmark, was done with a 1700 processor that was most likely an engineering sample given how it shows up in the test bench.
In any case, until retailers like microcenter dropped the price of the 7700k, the 7700k was more compared to the 1700x, and we've already seen that processor besting both the 7700k and 6950x

And we've seen the 1800x already sold out and many etailing preorders, including Amazon.
So....The threat is real, whether you want to admit it or not. And if not, well if you say so. If that floats your boat.
Personally, I don't mind if Intel would cut the price of the 7700k to like $220.... From a consumer standpoint, great. But it would make Intel's margins and quarter look su cky......
