Somebody designated as a spokesperson for ConocoPhillips has been talking to the Tulsa world. Plenty of copies of articles from the Tulsa world defining impending layoffs in Bartlesville and how many.

The number of layoffs in Bartlesville resulting from ConocoPhillips' San Juan Basin assets disposition will be significantly higher. Restructuring and centralization following non-core asset sales completion is expected to result in ConocoPhillips withdrawing all operations from Bartlesville to Houston.
We were told there are approx 570 Finance employees in Bartlesville which will be reduced to 400 as a result of the asset sales.

I was in the meeting Thursday in bville. Glenda said roughly 100 will be laid off with the Canada sale. Probably about 70 more with the San Juan and other sales. So that's around 170 from bville from the finance org. At no time was a 300 figure mentioned.

Watching managers and listening to weekend gatherings in local restaurants has been telling us this was coming for over a year! My house sold six months ago and I like the place I am renting so I am ready for whatever happens next.
