Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Racist Verizon Misandry

Please explain why the layoffs only targeted white American born men on the Network team? Did this racist misandry extend to the other business units?

I think most sections don't notice that Verizon is systematically chucking the advanced service time Americans that built the info systems and replacing them with workers from India following the lead of other tech companies that dumped entire staffs in one big farewell pink slip meeting. They don't consider it ageist or racist, "just business" because the younger imports cost less. Michelle Malkin has outlined the gory details in her book Sold Out for those interested in further reading on how this is happening in America. I'd like to think that they aren't targeting women and minorities as well as a Rif criteria. Somebody on here said they thought there was a Rif formula, but I don't know because occasionally there is some creative writing on this forum that may not be based in fact

I have heard stories many times from managers who wanted to promote the best candidate for a position only to be told to "Choose Another" When the unqualified make it to manager or director, the entire company suffers. We could afford to do this at one time, and that time has passed.

I haven't seen discrimination in layoffs, but definitely in promotions particularly in the former Marni product organization. She's come out said many times that we need more women in leadership positions. There no reason given except that's what she wanted. So they did what she asked for and thwts what they got. It's widely discussed by men and women how obviously untalented some of the people catapulted into top roles have been.

There are some excellent female leaders, but other recent promotions and hire are so rediculously bad it proves the point. Don't discriminate based on race or gender. It's bad for morale and performance.

It is possible the OP is working in a group that is almost entirely Indian. e.g. parts of IT.... where in the past it does seem that people let go were either not Indian, or from the wrong part of India.

If you work in a white male workplace, then white males get laid off. I work in a diverse group and the layoffs were equally diverse. You need to get a grip on life.

Absolutely correct, white males do not fall into a government protected category. Your kids pay full price for college. So sick of reverse discrimination in the name of "progress" MAGA!

Lol what a joke. I bet if you look around your office, most people are male and white so that's why most of the people let go look like you.

No one can explain it because they're not. You're either dilusional or trying to get people to unionize. Nice tactic.
