It has to be July 31st. Take a look at the Calendar for most rooms in DFW Bld A, B and C and a majority are booked by one person who works in HR.

It's coming... and soon - no later than 7/31. Have heard talk that some will be straight RIFs and some will be retirement packages - for the old folks who actually have a clue about the industry and about how the pieces of functionality work together. Globalization was the single worst move Sabre has ever made. Upper mgmt won't listen as we watch CEO after CEO line their pockets, then jump ship. As a 30+ year veteran of Sabre, the company, as it exists now, turns my stomach. The RIFs will be large, foolish and sad. Again, affected workers must be off the books by 7/31. This comes from a reliable source.

Get your resume ready, go look for another job/career somewhere else even if you're not let go. There are companies out there that will appreciate your skills. I was let go years ago (after begging to be in the next round of layoffs) and found a great company that I still work for, joined with a starting salary of 20k more than I was making at Sabre, six month review process with an average of 6% increase. I remember the days in Sabre when 2 or 3% was the norm after hiring on at a low rate thinking that I would prove myself and move up (no chance when you work for someone that takes the credit (you deserve) and the glory) but that didn't happen because the director had to approve it and he didn't want me to leave the team.

Get out now - leave - find a company that will encourage you not discourage with threats of layoffs every 6 months. I used to laugh at the town hall meetings when everything was flowers and rainbows in the beginning of the year and as we got closer to the VCP it was doom and gloom. How can you people live like that?

Its pretty clear there is a big re-org in the offing. Org charts haven't been updated since the people left after the last layoff in March. People leave and they are still in the org chart and still in outlook. However, the executive pieces are still falling in place. Jones being named to head TN full time, a replacement for Hugh just named, they still need to replace Deborah. I suspect they are waiting until that is complete before moving ahead with any "restructuring" plans. One should always keep ones powder dry. There are no permanent jobs anymore.

What is purpose of layoff? Cost cutting? That make sense. But people are fired with biased mentality, where bias is not on skills.

If you fire unethical people, you will have cost saving as well good quality.

First it was said April... now June? I think some are simply trying to generate a sense of terrorism... Get used to layoffs as it is something that may happen from time to time. If you are let go, simply take the money and go for something else. Trust the Universe... everything happens for a reason :) But if you want to feel miserable and victim, it's your choice.

All that I can say is that it is coming for sure and that it is going to be Global.

Don't have information on the dates at this time but expecting it to happen by the end of June.
