I notice that some of you who claimed "leaving" VZ to better things never post "where have they gone to?" As the name of the company. That being said, where to go after VZW?

The Can You Hear Me Now guy seems to be doing well at Sprint.
@MXIAGl3....NOBODY wants to admit they cannot find work. The severance runs out quickly .
VZ RIF-tees have Bell Shaped heads. They may have been top dog at VZ (and still got riffed) but in the REAL world there are THOUSANDs of qualified unemployed people. Ever go to a Job Fair?
There probably is a JOB out there unrelated to what they have been doing at VZ AND in no way paying salary or providing same or better benefits than Verizon provided.
I was rif'd in October of 2015. Been with Broadcom since January 4th 2016... (had to wait in order to collect severance, November, and December's paychecks plus vacation/STI payout). I work from home, have unlimited PTO, and have a much higher compensation package. To those that haven't found their way... All is not lost; you will move on. My only hope is that I'll be able to give back to others in a way that my children look upon this transition period fondly - and not with fear, and dread should they face something similar in their future.

For me was a blessing , now I love what I do, Verizon's projects fail typically due to micromanagement, you think they figured that by now? surprisingly a Very large percentage of managers are micromanagers at Verizon, many who don't even have a college education

As others have said, depends on your skills and your field. Did you keep your resume up to date or did you let them pigeon hole you.
Depends on your skill set and what your experience / degree is in.
But there are lots of jib opportunities out there
I had 8 I interviews and 2 good offers in 3 months after departure , quite easy
No one needs to know you Verizon looser.
I have no intentions of revealing where I work as I don't want those I had a past with to be able to know where I am now.
That being said I'm still in the sales industry though nothing to do with phones. There's no such thing as quota, no pushy or shady sales tactics, everything is upfront. Place offers a very friendly approach with customers regarding sales. My hours are so much better and I enjoyment out of weekends now. It's very much a team based culture here and everyone's helping everyone out. Owners aren't looking for ways to screw over their own employees and we're very well taken care of with food and bonus structure. It's the exact opposite of Verizon in almost every single way. Like the previous guy stated it's not perfect as no sales job is perfect but I haven't been this happy at a job in a long time and I feel like I'm part of a family rather than being treated like just another number.
amen to that. I love my new job, and I actually think I'll live longer due to a lot less toxic stress.
I went into portfolio management. This is an anonymous site so I am not going to be any more specific than that.
Plenty of jobs out there and after spending my entire adult life working for Verizon, I was shocked to see the difference in culture. Leadership is supportive and has a strong vision. There is integrity within the workplace which Verizon has ZERO integrity. Money for projects is managed far better. You don't see elaborate spending on kickoffs and parties. Everyone has a job to do. You don't see people running around creating "busy work" such as meetings and conference calls about nothing. Powerpoint decks pages long about a single change or action item.
I have work life balance, no stress and life is good. I do need to thank Verizon for giving me the hundreds of thousands of dollars I now have in my 401K. And for the severance which I invested as well. Is my new job perfect? No. But I am in a far better place. Verizon is toxic.
