LOL! Thanks Obama!
We are not the only ones who think this is not right
Experts are calling Humana out for over-paying our CEOs
"Humana’s earnings last year fell by more than half — but executive compensation roughly doubled."
Educate yourself.
Higher CEO pay is not exactly the issue. In the 1970's the CEO made 20 times the average worker at their company. I would have no issue with BB making 20 times my salary ($900,000/year). BB makes 422 times what I make ($19 million/year). Most of this money will be invested and become part of his Dynasty. Because invested money grows faster than salaries, we are creating a class of people that have unchecked growing power and influence, that will be able to buy our children's government. Economists make a good case that CEO pay is growing so much faster than all other pay that it is not tied to CEO productivity but is an exploitation of the system. Even though our country continues to get richer, all profits are going to the top. The middle class wages have frozen and the middle class is shrinking. Maybe your Bill makes a fair wage for a CEO, but BB does not, and it is turning our country into an Oligarchy. Obama Care is great in a lot of ways, and awful in others. The changes currently proposed by Republicans will only be a tax break for the rich and definitely cause our member's premiums to rise. I don't think their is a strong connection between leadership's failures and Obama Care, so you will have to spell that out for me.
Excuse me Post ID: @McYQSLO-2xdn but no, not any one can just " be " a CEO, and the point isn't that they work hard, or deserve some kind of heavy compensation. They may well deserve it, but the people below who are working hard to support the company , the face to face encounters with members to make them happy with this company , and all that entails , also deserve compensation and not just platitudes and nice phrases to make us feel good. A few years ago the platitudes and decent working conditions DID mean a lot to me, but more and more the platitudes are empty. And PS " Obamacare " was reformed and fabricated based on Republican ideas and input and reshaping, otherwise it would not have passed.
I completely understand everyone's stress. I'm in the same boat but all the constant bashing of what the top brass makes is wasted energy. Any one of us could have gone in that direction in life and made huge amounts of money. I guarantee you would not lower your pay! My brother in law is a CEO of an international company. He works at least 70 hours a week usually more and rarely sees his famil. He worked his butt off to be CEO by 55. It isn't glamorous work and makes our stress look like nothing! Imagine being responsible for 50,000 or more employees. The pay doesn't make the job easier. My BIL deals with constant insomnia because he carries the entire weight of the company on his shoulders. It's not the big wigs fault we are in this position. It's Obamacare! Plain and simple. It was a disastrous bill from the start aimed to fail.
I understand. I am looking at having to get an additional job soon myself. Would be nice to sit back and let others do the work for you and make millions huh. Oh well all that money cant go with you to heaven and Jesus was poor and had everything he needed while here on earth. All I just want to be able to feed my family and pay my bills.
Ummmm, I have not "reclaimed my weekend." I have to work a part time job since Humana does not pay me enough. I work 7 days a week.
