Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

EMEA Jobs wiped out..

Spain office closed.. Belgium the same.. More markets to follow. There is a big de- investment in EMEA

No respect to people and most of the HR following weird tactics.. trying to catch people by surprise.. sad to see so much politics and Dallas having no idea what is going on...

I wouldn't say there's a big De-Investment in EMEA, not as long as Etihad and partners are running the show. Now, refocusing on countries that serve them and closing down areas that don't, well that's another story. Etihad owns this company, don't forget it. If they don't like you, you're out.

In Sabre, people hire who gives good company to them in personal life. They hire large quantity where few are to work and others are to give company. And when promotions are preferred and given to these people that sends message that, there is no need to have working skill in Sabre, only need to know to give company. And in Sabre there is more, executives also expects s-xual satisfaction from some. Over the time it feels like not a corporate rather a slum.

Remember the CASH purchase of Last Minute for $1B in 2006 ?

If Last Minute was valued at $1B then what was the valuation of Travelocity, the market leader at that time ? Let's assume a conservative factor of 3X. So total value of $4B.

Fast forward 10 years. Whole of Travelocity including Last Minute sold for under $0.5 B. Talk about creating value for share holders.

In the meantime, market cap of Priceline is $87 B and Expedia is $20 B and these are purely online businesses which are Travelocity equivalents while the market cap of Sabre is $6 B. Things been on the wrong track for a while now, but the impact being visible only now
