My reply to the last post.....it sounds good and it makes sense. I'm not sure when the next pension band increase is. I think it's June. If that's the case, we could see something soon. Would it matter if Verizon is hiring Summer temps?

An offer will come to Verizon probably sooner than you think...reason being is our ceo cheap and hates anything to do with wireline...this company (Verizon) is losing revenues across the board as well and continuing with its stingy as hell MO...they don't want to pay out more than they have to thus the offer would come before the next pension band increase...lastly the 2nd eisp opens the door for layoffs whenever and wherever the company sees fit....good luck to all
Welcome to Cluster F@)K Communications. We never stop working you over.
It would be hard to justify an EISP if your department has over time available.
I would not be surprised if there is an offer. I think Verizon would like senior, pension eligible associates to leave. It makes sense especially if they are hiring Temps. New hires are much less expensive and have no pension. Out with the old, in with the new.
If you have the time but didn't take the last EISP you made a huge mistake. I believe at this point the company is at minimal staffing, especially technicians. .. in our garage, we're all being forced 8 hours every week and suspensions for work rules has stopped. I don't see any EISPs either like the last person stated, possibly ever again. Retiring now will be without the financial incentives because you're going to need to be replaced anyway if you do leave.
If you’re a technician and one does come next month, which is the rumor, I would take it. They won’t be coming every 3 months like they used to.
Please make us an offer. Even a low ball will result in a large reduction. I'm just waiting for the change to jump ship.
Never going to happen
Wishful thinking
I'd be happy to leave XO via a layoff - bring it on!
They are actually hiring more techs in PA so I do not see an EISP happening any time soon.
They are installing IPTV in New Jersey hoping to have it in all the central offices by the end of 2017. Maybe selling more central offices like Mountain View.
Nothing in New Jersey maybe at the end of the year. Or first-quarter 2018.
There are many waiting for an EISP. I think it makes sense right now but unfortunately I don't see it being offered.
welcome to VZ mesh of mess
Not sure, but those of us at XO are getting increasingly nervous about layoffs. Things just aren't adding up anymore regardless of what management tells us. One of our billing locations has already been hit with 30 day letters saying move to Oklahoma or see ya later. I don't think most of us will survive the transition much longer.
