Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

AWS Connect

Yesterday Amazon launched it's Connect service which is a cloud contact center offering. This is the death knell for Avaya Aura. Maybe not this year, but it will definitely be disruptive. Amazon dominates in everything it pursues and this will be no different.

You don't need to worry about AWS, incontact and Five 9's are killing Avaya and other traditional vendors in the SMB market before the AWS announcements. Just like Skype, RingCentral and 8x8 have been taking the SMB PBX market away from them. Avaya had lost the game long before this announcement from AWS.

Agreed! If all you have is a hammer eveeything looks like a nail. As an avaya insider in cloud, we too our old pbx's call center etc. and host it. We the charge a rate, often absurd and trip over ourselves trying to make it work. How customers fall for it is beyond me but many do. It is not sustainable. Amazon grew up in the new age and has better insight. I predict they surpass Avaya by 2018,(if we still exist). Sad but true
