I suppose they are going to give Alfie away now. They shipped 300 Alfies to our store today for a member event later in April.
Unbelievable. They have to give that thing away.

what's an alfie
Once again just is what it is. No need to make it into something it isnt. Time to move on.
Here is what I saw on SYW for the Alfie.
It was $50 now 90% off which is $5.00 plus you get back $5 in points limit 2 per reward card account.
So like someone else is saying. They are having to give these crappy devices away for free pretty much.
They make a nice paperweight for $5/Free.
Good question to ask Alfie.
What's it all about Alfie?
It didn't just not do well, it was a technological joke. It offers nothing that couldn't have been accomplished in 1982.
Sounds to me like it was just something that didnt sell well. There are always people that are going to make fun of things. I tried it, and it wasnt for me, but it might do the trick for someone. I wouldnt jump to the conclusion that if your store receives a shipment that means it is closing. It obviously just needs to be sold or given away and it cant do that sitting in a warehouse.
Or maybe those are the next round of stores they are closing. People will buy anything at a store closing. Even Alfie.
They tend to send all the junk to the stores that are closing for liquidation.
They don't give up, do they? Alfie should disappear because it's an embarrassment. Makes the company look worse. Reviewers poked fun at it when it 1st came out & now combined with the generally dismal press about Sears, this is begging for further ridicule.
They appear to have copied the Echo, but when you look into it, of course it doesn't really do much and its essentially records your question and sends it to a human who takes forever to respond. Sears slapped the Kenmore name on it and try to sell a massively inferior product at the same price and assumed it would sell like gangbusters.
Alfie would actually be a sad, fitting mascot for Sears.
so it doesn't work as spoken about on Pebble?
what a shame..
