Movement to GTS is correct, this was evident by th bigger role GTS took with the annual event last year, under th disguise of (giving isd breaks). Very sad indeed

It's sad where Walmart headed. They don't care about their employee and doing layoffs over several months so their employee will have anxiety and uncertainty for months. And seriously Walmart think moving Job to India will help the company then loyal employees who truly care about the company and country!!

Plan is to move all store side applications, legacy and OPS teams to GTS offshore, with only new development teams to be based at ISD... Contractors will play major role in these new development teams, as the talent needed to drive these initiatives is all cloud based AI, ML and big data. Vendors who have proven track record in these technologies will eat the cake. Overall this will be a slow transition process, spread over many months. Budget cuts already on for applications on existing infrastructure. New budget only for applications development on cloud stack and GEC pulling the strings on all ISD long term roadmaps alignment. Major RFI in ISD, while big time hiring in GTS.

When are they freaking going to understand all of this detrimental to getting anything done? That they are getting rid of TLs and SMEs is only going to make Walmart weaker and volunable. Do they even know (or care) that replacing associates with loyalty to the company with contractors who do not care about the customer is NOT good. By giving the work to the contractors will put the company in a vice? I've heard stories of entire teams being 3rd party. Has the executive team even realize that these vendors can and will take advantage of Walmart? Not only that, the but the quality is sub par and takes longer than committed to. In those areas, with all contractors has not been very successful. They are moving staffing in the WRONG direction. Keep your people, WalMart. Contractor pay is much closer to associate pay. Give the associates a raise, listen to their issues and DO something about. Stop letting leadership use the "buddy" system for hires - do a skills assessment, interview and give it to the right canidare, not the ones who are the "buddy" that system never happens. On more thing, then I am gone. The bell curve for evaluations is crazy. So many have to be low performance, majority solid, and the rest awesome extremely unbalanced.

Last rumor I heard (more than once): up to 400 in ISD starting Monday and finish the 17th. Hold off guys, this is going to be bad

I saw multiple people saying layoffs for "development needed". I have seen people let go coz of re-org and are clearly SP or even EE. I think it's wrong to say everyone let go are /will be Development needed.
