Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Hang on if you can afford it

Sure there are issues a DXC, and there will be constantly, but you can double dip. Management has their heads up their butt so much, and concerned about their own well being, that DXC is a great palace to finance your own start-up. That's what I and a few developers are doing. We know this is a black hole for developers, and the pay is no where near market, so use then like they use you.

Nothing wrong with when you need to have planB as second job. In your definitely of can't "abuse" the poor company, when in fact the "abuser" is the employer.. I wonder which side of the fence are you on? 😊

I am a US dev doing the same thing. Work maybe 20 hrs a week for DXC (formerly HPE) and have a second job that pays me double my DXC salary. Made over $230K last year. I basically just put all my DXC salary into savings.

Prepping the lifeboat is one thing but don't think I could abuse even a poor company like that; working for another concern on dxc time.

Yep, I work from home and have my DXC vpn logged into another computer. Very little work for them, but make my bread and butter for another company. Life is good. :)

Completely agree. With managers in other cities/countries that we never meet or even talk to on skype, who never have staff meetings, and have anywhere from 50 - 75 employees, out of site is out of mind for them. They prefer if you don't bug them. They don't care what you are doing and have no idea what you're supposed to be doing anyway. I've had a second job for a while now making over $200 K per year. I didn't intentionally start out to do this, it just happened with someone asking a favor, and the more management didn't care about me, the less I cared about them. I ensure all of my DXC work is done impeccably and don't feel the least bit guilty.

If you are making 35k are based offshore or nearshore then you need to gauge by that region. I'm talking about US based workers..

if you feel safe don't make planB😊

And keep planB alive... the first wave of WFR included some new hires with great skills as developers.. $$ does not discrimate... do your math anyone makes over 90k plus benefits your over compensation to DXC is closer to 115k or 120k. Just multiply that by head counts WFR's the quickest path to achieve $ 2 billion in savings...
