Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Why is Humana spinning this as associates being laidoff, they were fired!

I agree, saying associates were fired is an insult to our coworkers. It is much different to be fired and they would not continue to work. Good luck to all those impacted this round. It could be any of us next time and I do believe more is to come.

Layoffs are very different from firings. It is almost insulting to those laidoff to suggest they were fired. To be fired is related to not doing your job, or another issue of not meeting expectations. These layoffs had nothing to do with the quality of the work of the workers.

If you are fired you leave the company immediately. These people were NOT fired! I bet they were/are good at their jobs. Humana does hire very talented people

Fired employees are not given 2 months notice or severance pay. All this hostility is not making it any better for those of us laid off.

One thing is for certain, Humana is no longer walking hand in hand with these ex-associates as they make their journey through unemployment. ... Maybe they can call Humana At Home and see if there are any FREE resources.

Stop the spin!!! Sadly, these great associates were fired, pure & simple. Huge loss. Big mistake.
