Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Incompetence

How can the ECA's and other pre-sales engineers be expected to succeed when Oracle won't even make the investment in giving them their own cloud accounts?

That's just pathetic and goes to show you how cheap Oracle is. Now they are looking for a scapegoat to cover for their own incompetence.

Got news for Oracle's leadership, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google give all of their engineers their own accounts. Even salesforce and workday give their own employees access to the cloud.

I don't know about crashing.... I suspect there is simply not enough capacity for some of these services. And yes, it is bizarre. Learn the cloud services from powerpoints and click-through demos?

The oracle cloud would crash if employees had accounts and were in there doing things and giving demos all the time, plus you may actually figure out how crappy the product really are :( and then what would you do ? So you see MH & co are cleverly saving you from sure disappointment

This is so true. I'm on a team that handles software that is available both in the cloud and on-premmis. But I can not demo any of our cloud offerings to our customers, or even answer most questions about what we can do for them in the cloud, because Oracle refuses to give us, its own employees, access to our own cloud. It is easier for me to sign up for AWS and demo our software on THAT than it would be to convince someone around here to let us try Oracle's cloud. We are obviously not serious about succeeding in the cloud.
