Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Course Tracks Web

So glad Follett has finally taken Course Tracks to a web based system. It does have its small glitches, but really it is so handy. It takes me a only few tiny extra minutes to do simple operations. I just sit on my a-- all day doing nothing, sometimes working on a daily word jumble inbetween each task to load. Generally, I am getting more recreational time in and I just love it. I have encountered so much less stress with this extra free time waiting for the task to load, allowing more time to read or even catch a quick siesta.

Took minutes to do a simple rental check-in. Please give me old Coursetracks.

Sanjeev himself calls that the burning platform. Let's see if he follow his own advice.

the ORPOS fiasco is starting again. What genious doesn't understand that product is DEAD to Oracle. Good idea, spend more money on the P.O.S. Scrap it like Retalon and move on.

I worked on ORPOS for two years testing it while also doing my regular job. What a waste of time and money. Every six months I'd end up with a new group of consultants and we'd start testing all over again.

Another great project brought to you by the CIO of the year...SS! At least CT Web wss rolled out and they can begin to amoratize it. In the hole 20 million for ORPOS (right...anyone here of that) and its in Beta at 5 stores (beta for 3 years). I hear its great doing line busting for bubble gum and cans of soda.

All of those great new features at a cost of ONLY 20 million dollars. Why would Follett waste this money without any kind of benefit? Is centralized text in the future?

Let's not talk about how much money we've spent on consultants to fix this. In the old days we talked about ROI on projects, now it's how much do we need to spend to avoid a disaster; all self-inflicted of course.

Hahaha ... good one! It literally took me an hour to enter one adoption the other day - it was so glitchy and slow. And don't get me started on buyback - I'm constantly telling customers, "Sorry for the wait. Our system is slow."

Keep up the good work. Company recognizes your hard work will continue to lay off the slackers with years of service.
