Big time layoffs are coming soon. The old EMC package will be available for legacy folks until September. If your old or make a lot of money, you better have a "talk" with your manager and volunteer. Otherwise prepare to get the shaft. Good luck to all, it's going to get messy.

The only people who are allowed to know are at the very top of the food chain. They are prohibited from telling folks down below what's going on, because it might "spook the horses" and affect the bottom line. But of course, the horses are already spooked, and the bottom line is already feeling the burn, so...
Plan accordingly. Or just hang out and watch what happens.
"People you know" ? Stop kidding yourself. No one knows about the cuts except for a few people not far from Dell and Elias. As far as the open positions go, companies in major debt lay off anyone with experience and a good salary then hire kids out of a college for a pittance. Stop toeing the company line.
Please define old.... And a lot of money.
People that I know in Hopkinton mentioned that there won't be any more cuts, also there are 100's of openings in MA.
